91-year-old Chambersburg man bilked out of $3,000

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police say they're looking for a person who bilked a 91-year-old Chambersburg man out of $3,000.

The incident was reported Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., when the victim told troopers that he received a call from a person claiming to be his grandson, according to a state police news release. The caller told the man that he was locked up in a Peruvian jail and needed $3,000 to get out.

The victim then wired the money to Peru, troopers said.

Franklin County Emergency services incidents

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The following incidents were reported Sunday by Franklin County (Pa.) Emergency Services:

  • At 2:01 p.m., a brush fire was reported in the 11000 block of Richmond Road in Metal Township, Pa.
  • At 5:24 p.m., an outside fire investigation was reported at Apple Way and Campbells Run roads in St. Thomas Township, Pa.
