Mill St. at hospital demolition site closed weekdays through Dec. 23

HAGERSTOWN — Mill Street between East Baltimore Street and South Cannon Avenue is closed Monday and will be closed periodically over the next three weeks, according to a traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org.

Workers from Brandenburg Industrial are demolishing buildings that were part of the former Washington County Hospital along Mill Street.

The street is scheduled to remain closed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next three weeks, through Dec. 23, according to the advisory. It is expected to be open on weekends.

Motorists approaching the area should expect to encounter barricades, detour signs and other traffic control devices.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to  pass through the area.
