How did you get into your business, and what motivated you to start it? I am inspired by the Asian culture and the many Asian traditions of offering relaxation treatments, bodywork (reflexology, foot massages, acupressure, shiatsu, massage, Thai massage, etc.), acupuncture and other holistic treatments that many believe contribute to physical, mental and emotional well-being for every person from every walk of life at very little cost. As a lawyer, I’ve seen firsthand the negative effects stress can have not only on the body, but also on one’s life. I’ve also experienced the dramatic effects that decreased stress, an improved diet, holistic treatments and a moderate amount of enjoyable exercise can have on the quality of life and one’s overall happiness. I believe that bringing these holistic services to people at affordable prices — a 30-minute session costs $19 — will improve their health and contribute to a more joy-filled life. Because my husband is a commercial developer in Hagerstown, and we are recently married and now living here, I wanted Chakras to be close to where I was living, and where we are planning on raising our family.
