One person taken to hospital after crash on National Pike

  • One person was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center following a collision Friday morning on National Pike (U.S. 40) near the intersection with Greencastle Pike (Md. 63).

One person was taken to the hospital after an accident Friday morning on National Pike (U.S. 40) Trooper George of the Maryland State Police said.

A Chevrolet van collided with the back of a Chevrolet TrailBlazer, said George, who did not give his first name. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on National Pike just west of the intersection with Greencastle Pike (Md. 63), he said.

The driver of the TrailBlazer was taken to Meritus Medical Center.

In addition to the Maryland State Police, a firetruck from the Williamsport Volunteer Fire Company was on the scene but left by 8:22 a.m.

Police responded to the accident at 8:05 a.m.
