GIRLS BASKETBALL

Berkeley Springs 59, Moorefield 26

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Deidra Burch scored a game-high 32 points to lead Berkeley Springs to a season-opening victory over Moorefield.

Casey Solomon added 14 points for the Indians.



WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Shepherd 76, Davis & Elkins 72

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Katie Biggs scored a career-high 28 points and Shelby Fayak added 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to lead Shepherd University to a double-overtime win over Davis & Elkins in West Virginia Conference action.

The Rams rallied from a 21-point second-half deficit. Biggs hit on 7 of 10 shots, including 6 of 8 from behind the 3-point arc. She was 8 of 10 from the foul line.

Emily Daniel added 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals for Shepherd (3-3, 1-1), while Jenn Prine added seven assists.

Page Turner had 19 points and Amy Turner added 14 points and 10 boards for Davis & Elkins (4-3, 3-1).
