Edna Strother Minghini-James, 84, of Gerrardstown, W.Va., died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Care Haven Center.

Born Dec. 22, 1926, in High View, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Strother and Bessie Reynolds Strother.

She was a member of Winchester Avenue Christian Church.

Edna enjoyed being a homemaker and previously was the fountain manager for Drug Fair.

She is survived by her husband, J. Andrew James; two daughters, P Kay (Lupton) Breland, and Sonia (Lupton) DiGugliemo and husband, Louis; four grandchildren, Joey DiGugliemo, Ashley DiGugliemo, Betsy Ljubic and husband, Kruno, and Charity Lewis and husband, Rob; five great-grandchildren, Teyla and Jack Ljubic, and Carter, Camryn and Carly Lewis; two stepdaughters, Lisa James Dirting and husband, Donald L., and Linda James Freeman and husband, William B.; six brothers, Howard Strother, Wayne Strother and wife, Pauline, Larry Strother and wife, Jean, Roger Strother, Keith Strother, and Ricky Strother and wife, Cindy; four sisters, Alice Clark and husband, Mitchell, Joy Johnston, Genny Zarnick and Judy Crucio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Chester Minghini, in July 1982; two brothers, Lester and Lawrence Strother; two brothers-in-law, Norman Johnston and Bernie Zarnick; and a sister in-law, Glenna Strother.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Homes' South Berkeley Chapel, Inwood, W.Va., with Pastors Curt Lowry and Gary Kerns of the Independent Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in Central Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel.

Edna and her family would like to express their thanks to her caregivers, Staci Woodward, Jennifer Powell, Carolyn "Cookie" Saville and Tracey Hess; and the wonderful staff at Care Haven Center.
