  • The North Hagerstown JV football team went 8-0-1 this fall, averaging 39.4 points per game while allowing 14.1 per game. Quarterback Nick Karlen led the offense, completing 99 of 137 passes for 1,542 yards with 22 touchdowns and only one interception. Austin Stone ran for 1,065 yards and scored 20 TDs, while Jason Hall caught 25 passes for 355 yards and five TDs. Cameron Tibbs led the defense with 95 tackles, while Hall had 93 tackles and Robby Racedo had 83 tackles. In the photo, from left to right, are: Sitting -- T.J. PREP ICE HOCKEY

Northstars off to 2-0 start

FREDERICK, Md. — Travis Biggs scored four goals as the Washington County Northstars trounced Poolesville-Quince Orchard 11-1 on Tuesday.

Drew Brooks netted a hat trick, Shawn Kreps scored two goals and Savon Ambush and Brad Alvarez scored a goal apiece for Washington County.

Jeremy Benda had 16 saves for the Northstars (2-0). They play at home on Sunday against Montgomery-Blair.
