Dorcas D. Coleman, 72, of Falling Waters, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at her residence.

 Born July 25, 1939, in Shenandoah County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John William Dodson and Ruby Frances Dellinger Dodson.

 Mrs. Coleman was a devoted lifetime member and volunteer with AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 38, serving the Veterans Affairs  Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., and she was a member of American Legion Post 42.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, George “Tom” Coleman; one son, John T. Coleman of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one daughter, Catherine “Kitsy” Sprinkle of Falling Waters; five grandchildren, Molly Coleman, John “Skip” Coleman, Tori Thomas, Luke Sprinkle and Josh Sprinkle; three brothers, John Dodson of Charlottesville, Va., and Alan and Ronald Dodson of Conicville, Va.

Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Pleasant View Memory Gardens with the Rev. John Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Panhandle Home Health, 208 Old Mill Road, Martinsburg, WV 25401; or to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
