Madelyn Loretta Kline Harp of Myersville, Md., passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011.

She was the wife of the late Maynard R. Harp, who died June 8, 1982.

Madelyn was born July 23, 1913. She was the sixth of 12 children born to Etta (Kuhn) Kline and Paul Kline Sr.

Madelyn was a member of the last class to graduate from Wolfsville High School in 1931.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Wolfsville.

Madelyn’s sweet and gentle nature made her loved by many. She had a sense of humor, and a very kind and loving heart. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and will truly be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Donald Harp; grandchildren, Todd, Susan and Roy; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Benny and Rachel; daughter, Patricia and husband, Clarence Frushour; grandson, Terry and wife, Kelly; great-grandchildren, Jayme, Justin and Hunter; and great-great-grandchildren, Grayce, Lexi, Dwayne and Wyatt; daughter, Mary and husband, Jim Toms; granddaughter, Tammy and husband, Jerry; and great-grandsons, Travis and Dale. Madelyn is also survived by her loving sister and best friend, Olive Ross; sisters, Vera Morgan and Norma Biser; and sister-in-law, Esther and husband, Joe Summers. She will be fondly remembered by her devoted nephew, Jim Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Delauter, Gladys Toms, Catherine Eldridge and Virginia Shearer; and four brothers, Glenn, Merle, Harry and Paul Jr.

The family thanks the emergency room staff at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, especially Dr. Noah Keller and Matt Athey, for their tender care. Thank you to Dr. Bonham, Rose and the staff at Smithsburg Family Medical Center for the years of care.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Wolfsville, with Pastor David Howell officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Myersville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Madelyn to the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Co., 12464 Wolfsville Road, Myersville, MD 21773. They were always there when Madelyn needed them, and a special thanks to the Myersville Volunter Fire Co. Ambulance.
