Ronald Gelain Antill, 80, of 1036 The Terrace, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born Sunday, March 22, 1931, in Cameron, W.Va., he was the son of the late Perry Antill and the late Bernice (McCracken) Antill.

He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in forestry.

He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Ronald was employed with the Maryland State Forestry Service, retiring after many years of service. He was also a landman in the oil and gas industry for several years, working throughout the mid-Atlantic area. Thereafter, he worked at Snavely’s Garden Center in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport and Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Susan E. Antill; daughter, Teresa Antill Schoeck and husband, Ted, of Hagerstown; sons, Kelvin Antill and wife, Carol, of Baltimore, Md., David Antill of Canandaiqua, N.Y., and Michel Antill and wife, Maureen, of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, Duane Antill and wife, Brenda, of Virgie, Ky.; grandchildren, Leslie, Vincent, Otto, Gretchen and Teddy Schoeck, and Bethany, Braxton, Leeza, Nicholas, Grace and Emma Antill; and sister-in-law, Ruth Lachapelle and husband, Robert, of Jacksonville, N.C.

Services will be held Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, with the Rev. James E. Swecker officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, from noon to 1 p.m.

Interment will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
