The right lane of northbound Edgewood Drive between Dual Highway and Mount Aetna Road is closed Monday as crews from Pessoa Construction are working on the sidewalks on that side of the street.

According to a published report in October, sidewalk repair work and patching up driveways are minor tasks that need to be completed as a result of the expansion project at the intersection of Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive. The project is substantially complete, though, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration.

Other tasks needing to be completed may include patching up a roadway and replanting flowers and bushes in some areas. The minor work near the intersection could continue until the end of the year.

The Dual Highway and Edgewood Drive Intersection expansion project began in August 2009. It included widening both streets at the intersection, adding a left-turn lane from southbound Edgewood Drive to eastbound Dual Highway, and making the intersection more pedestrian- and bicycle-riendly.

Pessoa Construction was contracted to work on project, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration's website, www.sha.maryland.gov. The project cost approximately $5 million.
