On Oct. 17, Broadfording Christian Academy in Hagerstown inducted 15 high school students into the Colossians 3:17 Chapter of the National Honor Society.
The following students were inducted:
Carly Bird, Miranda Downey, Valerie Downs, Haley Hicks, Isaac Horvat, Emily Miller, Lexi Oliver, Joshua Pasch, Rachel Smith, Andrew Torres, Michael Torres, Zach Tussing, Ben Usher, Evan Usher and Bethany Yeager.
Senior Anne Hunt spoke about last year’s leadership study on “Coach John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success” and senior Ashley Burkett spoke about this year’s study on Dr. Edwards Deming’s quality control principles.
“This is the largest NHS group we’ve ever had at BCA. I’m looking forward to taking this large group, dividing them into three groups, allowing them to put Dr. Deming’s principles into practice by doing three separate quality improvement projects for BCA. A panel of judges will look closely at the completed projects in April 2012, and one of the three groups will be awarded the Deming Prize for making the best quality advancement for our school through their project,” said Elizabeth Luhn, honor society adviser.
