Leroy William Miller, 92, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

Born March 27, 1919, in Falling Waters, W.Va., he was the son of the late George William Miller and Beulah Lillian Ramsburg Miller.

Leroy had a heart of gold. He loved telling life stories, animals and had a special knowledge of cows.

He was a farmer for Knighten Farms. He had also worked for his close friend, Randolph Welsh, from 1959 to 1975.

He is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Brill and husband, William, and Josephine Fridinger and husband, Charles, all of Ranson, W.Va.; numerous cousins; nine nieces and nephews, one of whom, Marty Cloud of New Jersey, he helped raise; and two wonderful friends, G.R. Welsh Jr. and Debbie Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Link Cloud Miller; one brother, Paul Miller; and two sisters, Dorothy Cloud and Ernestine Laureigh.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastors Cliff and Mary Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the chapel.
