Helen Musser Lightner, 86, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Mount Tabor Road, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born June 11, 1925, in Atkins, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura Musser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lightner, in 1999. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
She was employed by L'Aiglon and E.J. Fennel sewing factories.
She was a past member of American Legion Post 202 in Williamsport and Improved Order of Red Men of Williamsport.
She is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Hayes Blair of Hagerstown; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hendershot and husband, Donnie, of Clear Spring, Md.; two great-grandsons, Brian and Michael Hendershot of Clear Spring; and a sister, Elsie Evans of Grosclose, Va.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Graveside service and burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marion, Va.
