Hagerstown Children's Theater to perform at mall

Hagerstown Children’s Theater will perform Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at Valley Mall.  

The group will perform “Happy Holidays from Scooby Doo and the Gang” in Center Court near Santa.

The group will sing holiday favorites and a featured original song titled, “I’m a Lonely Stinkbug at Christmastime.”

Pet photos with Santa

Area pet owners are invited to bring in their furry or feathered friends this holiday season for pictures with Santa Claus at Valley Mall on Mondays through Dec. 12,

Santa will sit with furry friends for “Pet Photos with Santa.”

Pets may have their portrait taken any time between 6 and 8 p.m.

All pets must be domesticated and transported on a leash or in a pet carrier.

Owners must sign a release prior to visiting Santa and are responsible for pets at all times.

Those wanting to have photos taken are asked to use the Center Court entrance of the mall near Garfield’s Restaurant.

Hickory Elementary to hold math night

Parents and students of Hickory Elementary School are invited to family math night today from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

This is a chance for parents and students to visit the school and play math games with teachers. Games will also be available for purchase.


A student-athlete and college recruiting seminar will be held Monday, Nov. 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Williamsport High School auditorium.

This meeting, titled “Guiding the College Bound Athlete,” is for parents and athletes, grades 8 through 12.

Washington County Public Schools will be closed Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Schools will also be closed Monday, Nov. 28, for a professional day. Students will return to classes Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Surgery in the 18th Century

Surgery in the 18th Century, a hands-on demonstration will be held at the Jonathan Hager House and Museum at City Park today.

Historian Mia Clift will present a hands-on demonstration and discussion about Colonial surgical instruments and procedures. This lecture is free.
