Greencastle Tree Lighting Ceremony to take place Friday night

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — The annual Greencastle Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the square on Friday night.

Activities begin on the square at 6 p.m. and include music, popcorn and hot chocolate, characters dressed in Victorian attire, a bagpiper and the official lighting of the tree at center square.

Actors and actresses from the G-Antrim High School Drama Club production of "Christmas Crisis at Mistletoe Mesa" will also be mingling in the crowd before they return to the school for an 8 p.m. performance Friday in the high school auditorium.

The Greencastle-Antrim Christmas Parade begins on Saturday at 9:21 a.m. Santa Claus will make an appearance and unveil the Santa Mail Box to be put on the square that morning. Goodie bags will also be distributed to children following the parade. The treats are supplied by the Lions Club of Greencastle.
