Turkey Trot set for Nov. 24

The 11th annual Hagerstown Community College Turkey Trot/Food Drive and 5K Run/Walk and Mashed Potato Kids Races will be held Thursday, Nov. 24, at the Hagerstown Community College Athletic, Recreation and Community Center.

Parking will be in Lots 1, 2 and 3 in front of the ARCC. Please do not park on the side or to the rear of the ARCC.

Registration/packet pickup will be from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m., and the 5K Run/Walk starts at 9 a.m. The fee for the 5K Run/Walk before Nov. 19 costs $20; after Nov. 19, it costs $25. The first 600 people who register will get a T-shirt.  

The Mashed Potato Kids Races for those ages 3 to 10 will begin at 8:30 a.m. All children will have the opportunity to run 600 meters and receive a ribbon. Registrations received before Nov. 19 cost $10; and after Nov. 19, cost $15. The first 75 registrants will receive a T-shirt.

The 5K course is a 3.1-mile loop course which runs on campus. The course will be closed to traffic from 8:50 a.m. until the end of the race.

Turkeys will be given to the overall male and female champions as well as each male and female age-group winner.

The award ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m.

All participants will be entered into a grand-prize drawing. The drawing will be held at the conclusion of the race and before the award ceremony.
