Nobody was injured after a woman fell off her scooter at the intersection of South Burhans Boulevard and Sherman Avenue on Tuesday morning, Officer Langley Dean of the Hagerstown Police Department said.

The driver of the scooter was heading southbound on South Burhans Boulevard and couldn't stop in time at the intersection with Sherman Avenue, Dean said.

The woman was checked for injuries in an ambulance from Hagerstown Community Rescue Service but refused to be taken to the hospital, Dean said.

The accident was initially reported at the 900 block of Sweeney Drive, which is about 400 feet west of where it actually occurred.

Police responded to the accident at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday and blocked traffic heading southbound on South Burhans Boulevard from turning right onto Sherman Avenue.

The scene was cleared and the woman drove away on her scooter at 7:18 a.m.
