Robert W. “Bob” Barger, 86, of Greenhill Drive, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at his home.
Born Oct. 8, 1925, in Brownsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Bud W. and Bessie (Staley) Barger.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He retired from the U.S. Navy as an X-ray technician.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores G. (McMaster) Barger, whom he married Jan. 24, 1947; daughter, Deanne Walter and husband, Lanny, of Frederick; grandchildren, Anthony Mattingly of Hagerstown, and Scott Wasserburger and Lewis Wasserburger, both of Colorado; sisters, Betty, Dolores, Emeryetta and Dianna; brothers, Charles, James and Daniel; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Bonnie Wasserburger; sister, Dorothy; and brothers, Buddy, Kenny, George and Paul.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
