Man charged with possession of a Molotov cocktail in Martinsburg, W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Martinsburg, W.Va., man who police caught running through back yards with an incendiary device after he allegedly threatened to kill someone Wednesday has been charged with attempted arson, the Martinsburg Police Department said.

Timothy L. Anderson, 25, of 356 Ruben Circle, also was charged with possession of an incendiary device through Berkeley County Magistrate Court, according to a police department news release.

Police alleged that Anderson called 911 at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday to say that he was on his way to kill another man in the 300 block of North Maple Avenue. When police arrived, they reported seeing Anderson cutting through back yards heading toward the house.

Officers said Anderson was holding a Molotov cocktail when he was captured.
