Martinsburg woman charged with prostitution

November 09, 2011

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A woman was charged with prostitution after police said she met with an undercover police officer at the Heritage Inn just outside Martinsburg, according to court records.

Sheila Wells Silver, 47, of 53 Crown Court, Martinsburg, was arraigned Wednesday by Berkeley County Magistrate Joan V. Bragg, who set a $2,500 bond, according to magistrate court documents.

Silver was arrested after she engaged Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael St. Clair in “an obvious sexual act” in room 117 of the motel at 1024 Winchester Ave., court documents said.

Silver agreed to meet her supposed customer there for $100 per half hour after the deputy responded to an Internet advertisement on Tuesday, the documents said.

Titled “Angel Eyes,” the ad, which featured the defendant’s photo, described her as “full figured, blonde hair, blue eyes, luscious lips ...,” according to court documents.

Silver’s arrest came after police received an anonymous tip that the defendant was soliciting sex for money out of the motel, the document said.
