Part of East Baltimore Street set to close periodically

East Baltimore Street is scheduled to close between King Street and Mil Street periodically for the next three weeks, according to a traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org.

Brandenburg Industrial Service Company, the contractor for the demolition of the former Washington County Hospital complex, is scheduled to demolish the buildings facing East Baltimore Street during that time, according to the advisory.

The road is expected to close Monday, Nov. 14 through Friday, Nov. 14, Monday, Nov. 21 through Wednesday, Nov. 23,and Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 2. Closure will begin at 7 a.m. each morning and last until around 6 p.m., according to the advisory.

Motorists in the area can use Antietam Street, Cannon Avenue, and other city streets as detours around the work area.

Emergency vehicles will not be able to pass through the work area while the closure is in effect, according to the advisory.
