The 40th annual family reunion of the descendants of George and Viola Mowen Lushbaugh was held Sept. 17 at Martin L. “Marty” Snook Memorial Park in Halfway.

There were approximately 100 people in attendance.

The event included children’s games and door prizes. There was a special gift of a framed picture of George and Viola Lushbaugh that was won by John Shifler of Boonsboro.

There was also an auction to raise money for next year’s reunion.

Prizes were awarded to Raymond and Barbara Jennings for traveling the farthest from North Carolina, to newlyweds Nathan and Jordyn Himes, and to newest baby Kaelii Shirley, born June 6, the daughter of Michael and Laurie Shifler of Cascade.

Gift cards were awarded to Ronnie Lushbaugh and Margaret Lushbaugh Richards, the two remaining children of George and Viola Lushbaugh.

Next year’s reunion will be held Sept. 15, 2012, at Snook Park.
