HAGERSTOWN — Officers were investigating how a two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Dual Highway and Eastern Boulevard late Tuesday morning, a Hagerstown Police Department spokesman said.

A Jeep and a car collided in the intersection, said Officer Jon Molineaux. The Jeep flipped over on its roof, while the car had only minor front-end damage, Molineaux said.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to Meritus Medical Center, he said. There didn't appear to be any life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police responded to the accident at 10:48 a.m. Tuesday and began to direct traffic at the intersection. Traffic heading westbound on Dual Highway was forced to turn right onto Eastern Boulevard.

The intersection reopened after police cleared the scene around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Sgt. Steward Heckman said later Tuesday that because officers only have one witness to the crash, there is no one else police can interview to verify that person's account of the wreck.

Heckman said his department is looking for more witnesses in an attempt to determine which driver was at fault. Anyone who saw the crash can call city police at 301-790-3700.
