November 08, 2011

GREENCASTLE, Pa. — With all seven precincts reporting in the Greencastle- Antrim School Board race, newcomer Tracy Baer was the top vote-getter in Tuesday's general election with 1,335 votes.

Baer could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

According to the complete, but unofficial results, incumbent Eric Holtzman was second with 1,316 votes. Rounding out the top five spots was newcomer Ken Haines with 1,205 votes, incumbent Melinda Cordell with 1,135 votes and challenger Michael Still with 1,131 votes.

Linda Farley and Paul Politis rounded out the votes with 796 and 545, respectively.

The top five will be seated on the nine-member school board. The seats are for four-year terms.

In pre-election remarks, Baer said she was running for a seat on the school board because she was concerned about raising the mill rate and this year's taxes.

"I realized how important it was to step up and help the citizen fight to control tax increases the we cannot afford," she said previously.

Baer is a senior accountant for First Data Corporation in Hagerstown.
