Kris Kringle Craft Show set for Nov. 19 and 20

The 28th annual Kris Kringle Craft Show will be Nov. 19 and 20 at Hagerstown Community College's Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center.

The show will feature more than 260 crafters, more than 100 new vendors, wider aisles and larger booth spaces.

The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 20.

Admission costs $1, with proceeds going to Children's Village.

Parking will be free and a free shuttle will be available. There will be free gift-wrapping, a package-holding area and free vendor door prizes.

Last year, the nonprofit show donated more than $10,000 to the Parent Child Center of Hagerstown.

Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food items for Christmas baskets for local families and/or a new toy to be donated to The Salvation Army for children at Christmas.

New this year will be a children's shopping village in the main lobby with gifts for children to buy ranging in price from 50 cents to $6.

Volunteers are needed to work at the show. Washington County students who need student service-learning hours are encouraged to volunteer.

Cascade Elementary

A new computerized system has been added to all elementary schools in Washington County this year. Cascade Elementary School families should have received the updated form to register into the system. CLASS, or Children Leaving A School Safely, is user friendly. When visitors enter the school office, they scan their driver's license to register. A pin number will be linked to their student. The computer will then print a visitor's pass or tardy slip if needed.
