Catherine Lorraine Kimble, 87, of Halfway, Md., died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown, Md.

Born April 26, 1924, in Williamsport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Russell M. Turner and Blanche Catherine Kelly Turner Holtzman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thomas Kimble Sr., in 1990.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Christ’s Reformed Church-United Church of Christ, Hagerstown.

She was a member of The Volunteer Fire Co. of Halfway Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening and loved animals. She also enjoyed traveling, and looking at lighthouses and collecting them.

Survivors include daughter, Cherle D. Carl and her husband, Frank, of Waynesboro, Pa.; daughter, Linda K. Van Metre and her husband, Thomas, of Hagerstown; son, Raymond T. “Tom” Kimble Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Greencastle, Pa.; son, James G. “Jim” Kimble Sr. and his wife, Betty, of Halfway; son, Jeffrey L. Kimble and his wife, Brenda, of Halfway; half sister, Ruby Fraley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; half brother, James Holtzman of Sharpsburg, Md.; half brother, William Holtzman of South Carolina; half brother, Gary Holtzman of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one sister, Anna M. Walls; and one half brother, Joe “Sonny” Holtzman.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gregg R. Meserole officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
