More than $5,000 stolen from ATM at Chambersburg bank

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Chambersburg police were investigating the theft of more than $5,000 in cash from a automatic teller machine at an Orchard Drive bank this morning.

The ATM at the First National Bank of Mercersburg, 1680 Orchard Drive, was broken into at 3:32 a.m. Monday, police said. The person or people responsible got $5,680 and drove away in a white utility van, police said.

The van was seen heading south on U.S. 11 at 3:40 a.m., police said.
