Milling work leads to lane closures on W. Antietam St.

November 07, 2011

HAGERSTOWN — West Antietam Street between Walnut Street and West Washington Street is subject to temporary lane closures for pavement milling this week, according to a traffic advisory from the City of Hagerstown's website, www.hagerstownmd.org.

Work crews from Craig Paving, Inc. are milling the existing pavement on West Antietam Street in that location, according to the advisory.

New pavement overlay is expected to be installed there next week.

Work on the road began Saturday, according to the advisory.

Flagmen will help to direct traffic around the area when needed. Motorists approaching the area will also encounter cones, barricades,  and other traffic control devices.

Emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the work area, but traffic backups and delays are possible there, according to the advisory.
