Brenda Kay (Miller) Knott, 64, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born March 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wayne and Jeanette Ilene (Miller) Bledsaw. She was the wife of 46 years to Rodney James Knott Sr. of Hagerstown.

Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Decatur, Ill. Upon graduation, she married her husband, Rodney, on June 9, 1965. She was a homemaker who raised her children and worked side jobs periodically throughout her life. She enjoyed playing bingo and collecting various antiques.

In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by a daughter, Rhonda K. Sullivan-Clopper of Hagerstown; a son, Rodney J. Knott Jr. of Mercersburg, Pa.; a sister, Paula S. Martin of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, Samuel "Butch" Bledsaw and John "Johnny" Bledsaw, both of Warrensburg, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Lauren N. Sullivan, Lindsay M. Sullivan, Rodney J. Knott III, Tiffany L. Knott, B. Michael Sullivan and Matthew F. Clopper.

Brenda's Celebration of Life will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Anjel Scarborough will officiate.

The visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
