Daisy Pearl Cassidy, 93, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center.

Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Simon Cletus and Cora May Bivens Younker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Cassidy Sr.

She previously was employed by Hagerstown Laundry and Cavetown Cannery.

She was a member of Virginia Avenue Baptist Church.

She was a former member of the Eagles Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Dolores Thompson of Maugansville, Md.; three sons, F. Wade Cassidy of Elmhurst, Ill., Herbert D. Cassidy of Clear Spring, Md., and W. Terry Cassidy Sr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Ester Barnhart of Hancock and Ida Hart of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Reba Brennan, Dorothy Hull and Rene Hart; and six brothers, Alvin Younker, Roy Younker, Russell Younker, Monroe Younker, Ezra Younker and David Younker.    

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Wendell McClellan will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
