Charles Donald "Don" MacDonald, 80, of Hagerstown, Md., died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at his home.

Born Aug. 6, 1931, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Charles S. and Mary Catherine Rockwell MacDonald.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.

He was employed by Montgomery County Cars until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Williamsport, Md.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy H. MacDonald, whom he married May 4, 1962, of Hagerstown; daughter, Lynda Filbert of Lutherville, Md.; son, Michael MacDonald of Rockville, Md.; son, Mark MacDonald of Middletown, Del.; stepdaughter, Dawn Allen of York, Pa.; sister, Nancy Wald of Houston, Texas; brother, Ronald MacDonald of Burke, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter

He was preceded in death by one son, Scott MacDonald; and one sister, Patricia Pasquale.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport, with the Rev. John Jicha celebrant. Burial will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
