Isabel B. Yingling, 89, formerly of Frederick, Md., and more recently of Boonsboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born Sept. 11, 1922, in Wolfsville, Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar A. and Sarah Ellen DeLawter Brandenburg.

She married C. Ralph Yingling on Jan. 31, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2001.

Isabel was a 1939 graduate of Middletown High School.

She was a life member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville, serving several terms on the council and as council president.

She worked for Hood College, Gilbert's Dress Shop, and retired in 1988 after 19 years with the Frederick County Board of Education at Waverly Cafeteria.

Isabel was a charter member of the Civinette Club of Frederick, serving as president in 1960 and secretary numerous times.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy L. Green of Smithsburg and Karen L. Wedl and husband, Paul, of Middletown; three grandchildren, Gregory G. Green and wife, Heather, Dusty Green and Sarah Ellen Wedl; one sister, Sara Jane Zimmerman and husband, Carroll, of Walkersville; one brother, Nevin G. Brandenburg and wife, Paige, of Wolfsville; and her companion, Hobo the cat. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Isabel was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor Grossnickle and husband, C. Basil, and Joyce E. Davis and husband, James; her brother, Hoye E. Brandenburg and wife, Oneita; and sister-in-law, Mary E. Yingling Smith and husband, Paul.

Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville, with Pastor David Howell officiating. Burial will be private at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Wolfsville.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
