HAGERSTOWN — The North Hagerstown volleyball team completed its regular season with an eight-match winning streak, capping the run with a 25-14, 25-9, 25-8 sweep of rival South Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam match Tuesday night at South. North (12-2, 6-1) finished second in the conference to Williamsport, which gave the Hubs their only conference loss. They haven’t lost since. “Basically, it is all about consistency,” North coach Megan Crawford said. ¿Hopefully, we can stay consistent in the playoffs and keep the run going.¿ Erika Lawrence had 19 service points for the Hubs. ¿I try to get my serves in, because I don¿t want to let my team down by missing them,¿ Lawrence said. ¿I just try to make sure that I play my role well.¿ Brynne Kirsch had 35 assists, while Autumn Fisher collected 14 kills, five blocks and six digs and Iman Scott added 11 kills for the Hubs. ¿The girls passed really well tonight,¿ Crawford said. ¿I thought that we were able to run an offense. We cut down on our mistakes and we were able to put the match away.¿ Lawrence served four straight points to enable the Hubs to build a 6-2 lead in the first game. She later served the final four points of the game, which included a game-ending kill by Scott. In the second game, Kirsch served seven straight points to help the Hubs race out to an 8-0 lead. Lawrence added another string of four service points to raise the Hubs¿ lead to 14-3. In the third game, Mollie Johnson served four points in a row to help the Hubs start out with a 5-1 lead. Lawrence later added seven consecutive service points to increase the Hubs¿ advantage to 13-2. ¿North is a great ballclub,¿ Weaver said. ¿We just didn¿t show up tonight. Not that the outcome would have been any better, but we certainly can play better than what we did tonight.¿ North swept the JV match 25-21, 25-21.
