James R. “Juni” Nichols Sr., 84, of Marsh Road, Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Feb. 1, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late James Franklin and Lottie May (Dotson) Nichols.
He had worked at the former Fairchild Co. and retired from Pangborn Co.
He and his wife, Ruth H. (Burkett) Nichols, were married Nov. 29, 1947.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving family, in addition to his wife, are one son, James R. Nichols Jr., Waynesboro; stepgranddaughter, Valerie Wiser, Walnut Bottom, Pa.; stepgrandson, Jerry M. Provard, Williamson, Pa.; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., with the Rev. James Sollenberger officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
