Gilbert D. “Geb” Fox, 83, of Pious Ridge Road, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Oct. 12, 2011, at War Memorial Hospital. He went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Berkeley Springs, the son of Devereux B. Fox and Ethel Vangosen Fox.

He was retired from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was affiliated with the Alpine United Methodist Church and was a member of Deford Lodge No. 88 AF&AM, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics No. 117 and American Legion Post 60, all of Berkeley Springs.

He also was a member of the National Association of Railroad Veterans and Employees.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Fox.

He is survived by his wife, Esta Lee Yost Fox; one daughter, Sharon and her husband, William Bishop, of Berkeley Springs; two sons, Gilbert “Leon” Fox and his wife, Nadine, of Warfordsburg, Pa. and Tony “Chris” Fox of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Gladys Mitchell of Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, Lonnie, Billie Jo, Henry and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Trenton; Rodney Yost, loved like a son; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Alpine United Methodist Church on Pious Ridge Road.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36 S. Green St., Berkeley Springs.
