HAGERSTOWN — The Washington County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to buy portions of three properties in preparation for a project to widen Robinwood Drive between Medical Campus Road and the Hagerstown Community College entrance.
The acquisitions along Robinwood Drive are the latest in a series of about 22 property acquisitions needed for the project, Real Property Administrator Joe Kuhna said.
“We are probably 50 percent complete as far as acquisition,” he said.
The total cost for the three acquisitions approved Tuesday by the five commissioners was $131,366.
The properties are:
• 11314 Robinwood Drive, a drainage easement for $1,300
• 11302 Robinwood Drive, a combination of acquisitions and easements totaling $57,678
• 11067 Robinwood Drive, a mix of easements totaling $72,388
The 11314 and 11302 addresses are residential properties, while 11067 Robinwood Drive is a vacant commercial property near the Hagerstown Elks Lodge, Kuhna said.
The road-widening project is scheduled for construction beginning in the summer of 2012, with completion in the fall or winter of 2013, Public Works Director Joseph Kroboth III has said.
