GREENCASTLE, Pa. — A Greencastle man who slid about 130 feet on the pavement during a motorcycle accident Sunday on U.S. 30 was flown to Altoona Regional Health System, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Francis Malachowski, 62, of Greencastle, was listed as a patient in the hospital Monday, but his condition was unavailable, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Malachowski was riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson westbound through a construction zone at about 1:10 p.m., when he struck a test hole and lost control, according to a state police press release. Malachowski and the motorcycle slid down the roadway for about 130 feet before they were separated, police said.
Troopers said the motorcycle slid for an additional 170 feet.
The accident occurred on U.S. 30 about 3/10 of a mile east of Lincoln Way West in Fulton County, troopers said.
The McConnellsburg Fire and Ambulance Co. assisted at the scene.
