1. Four days and 50 films

Maryland International Film Festival kicks off Thursday, Oct. 13, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 16. Event features film screenings, red carpet arrivals, acting workshops. Thursday's event is at The Maryland Theatre, South Potomac Street, downtown Hagerstown; Friday, Saturday and Sunday's events at Leitersburg Cinemas, Leitersburg Pike, Hagerstown, and Bridge of Life, South Potomac Street, downtown Hagersotwn. 2. A tour that's outta this world

5. Riding for Tori

A motorcycle ride will be Saturday, Oct. 15. Registration at 10:30 a.m., ride at noon, at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park, 17901 Halfway Blvd., Pavilion 4, Hagerstown. Ride through Washington County and return to the park. Lunch, raffles, baked goods sale and more. Cost is $15 per rider, $10 per passenger; cars, $10 per person. Proceeds benefit Possum Holler band member Tori Anderson, who has systemic scleroderma.
