Mildred Marie (Miller/Andrews) Harple, 86, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at Emeritus at Hagerstown (Loyalton). She was a lifelong resident of Hagerstown.

Born Feb. 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Irene Miller.

She was previously employed by the Hagerstown Shoe Co., and later retired as a cook with Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home.

Mildred was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she loved singing in the choir.

She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter 3, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, William A. Harple; a daughter, Linda Fields and husband, John; a son, Darren Andrews and wife, Petrea; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a stepdaughter, Chris Harple; a stepson, Thomas Harple and wife, Kathy; and one stepgranddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald R. Andrews; sisters, Irene Hutzell, Helen Miller and Hilda Sprecher; a brother, Charles Miller; and a granddaughter, Paige Andrews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
