CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — An Inwood, W.Va., woman was killed Friday morning after the vehicle she was driving struck a pole and a tree along Leetown Road, according to West Virginia State Police.
April Roberts, 40, of Inwood, was driving a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo south on Leetown Road at about 10:40 a.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, police said. The Isuzu ran off the east side of the road, struck a utility pole then a tree.
Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Jack Spindle, 39 also of Inwood, was in the vehicle when it crashed and was injured, police said. Spindle was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va., where he remained in fair condition Friday evening, a hospital spokesman said.
