FUNKSTOWN — South Edgewood Drive has reopened from East Baltimore Street to Stouffer Avenue in Funkstown.

The road was closed Monday due to a sewer main break, according to Brenda Haynes, Funkstown’s clerk and treasurer.

A maintenance worker noticed the broken main Sunday evening, Haynes said.

Workers from Henson and Son spent Monday morning repairing the break. The repair work required excavation of the road and repaving after the main was fixed.

The sewer main was carrying sewage to a treatment plant, but no sewage spilled onto the road, Haynes said.
