1. It's one spicy Saturday night

Main Street Martinsburg's annual Chili Cook-off will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in downtown Martinsburg, W.Va. Vote for your favorite chili. 2. To market, to market we go

Waynesboro Market Day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in downtown Waynesboro, Pa. The event will feature craft vendors, food, a beer garden, live music and entertainment, a chili cook-off, scarecrow contest, activities for children and sidewalk classes. 3. Scratch this

Poultry swap and farmers market will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Green Hill Farm, 5329 Mondell Road, Sharpsburg. Area farmers and hobbyists will sell laying hens, baby chicks, turkeys, peacocks, exotic birds, geese, ducks, rabbits, goats as well as flowers, horse tack, local honey, used equipment and tools and more. 4. Calling all gearheads

Maugansville car, tractor and motorcycle show will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Maugansville Bible Brethren Church parking lot, 17904 Binkley Ave., Maugansville. Dash plaques to the first 50 vehicles. People's Choice trophy. There will be kids games and free rides on Thomas the Tank Engine. There will be free clothing in sizes for all ages and toys. 5. Bowling for Alli

Bowl for Alli will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at  Dual Lanes, 1350 Dual Highway, Hagerstown. Cost of $15 includes bowling, shoe rental and a beverage. Minimum four people per lane.
