1. Haunted cornfield and a jamboree

Star Community Inc. will host two events a haunted cornfield and a Barnyard Jamboree. Haunted corn field: 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 1. Barnyard Jamboree, pictured right, activities include crafts, farm and children's toy vendors, kids pedal pull, petting farm, carnival games, musical entertainment, equestrian riding demos. Silent auction 10 a.m., pie and cake auction 3 p.m. Saturday. Gospel music and praise 10 a.m., pie and cake auction 1 p.m. 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. 2. Just a swingin'

Discovery Station's Hangarfest will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Rider Jet Center, 18539 Henson Blvd., Hagerstown. There will be performances by Ray Birely Big Band, Spectrum and Rhythm Kings with Kim Tantillo. The event will also offer fine food, beer and wine. One free drink coupon with each ticket purchased. 3. Grab your pumpkins

Harvest Hoedown will include food, scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, a silent auction, children's games, vendors, petting zoo and more. Sponsored by the Williamsport Ministerium. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. Byron Memorial Park, off U.S. 11, Williamsport. Call 301-223-8887. Proceeds will go to the Williamsport Food Bank.


4. Have a taste

Taste of the Town food tasting and silent auction will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at Hagerstown Community College Athletic Recreation and Community Center, 11400 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown. 5. A night of theater

Southern Fulton High School will present the three-act play "You Can't Take it with You." 7 p.m.; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 1.
