Thelma Yeakle

Thelma “Jane” Yeakle, of Williamsport, Md., died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at her home.

She was born in Pinesburg, Md., to the late Jesse Lee and Celia Mae Myers Staley.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ned Murray in 1969 and Howard Francis Yeakle in 1988.

She was a 1935 graduate of Williamsport High School.

She was president and owner of G.E. Murray Distributing Co. of Hagerstown, Md., until retiring in 1982.

She was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport.

She was an associate member of the Williamsport Memorial Library, and a member of Potomac Post No. 202 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Williamsport, and the Williamsport Museum.

She was the last survivor of her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport, on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John Jicha celebrant. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williamsport.
