Washington County Commisssion on Aging seeks local volunteer drivers

September 23, 2011

The Washington County Commission on Aging seeks local volunteers to help deliver meals to area seniors.

Volunteers are still needed for all Hagerstown routes, as well as Boonsboro-Keedysville, Williamsport, Smithsburg and Clear Spring-Hancock.

Volunteers deliver in their own vehicles. If volunteers are age 55 or older, they are eligible for travel reimbursement of up to $14 per month.

All volunteers are covered by accident liability insurance provided by the COA.

Hagerstown routes take about one hour to complete and have 12 to 13 stops.

We request that all volunteers serve at least once week, Monday through Friday. In inclement weather, we do not deliver meals.

Contact Hannah Cramer, WCCOA deputy director, at 301-790-0275, ext. 209, or at hcramer@wccoaging.org.
