St. John's Preschool to mark 40th anniversary

September 22, 2011

St. John's Preschool, at 101 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

The preschool opened its doors in September 1971, and has been serving the community ever since.

The preschool is open to all and does have limited scholarships available.

There are morning classes on a two-day, three-day, or five-day basis.

St. John's Preschool is fully accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education and uses the highly regarded CLI, or Children's Literary Initiative, curriculum. CLI is a curriculum project that addresses all developmental areas and promotes a seamless transition to kindergarten in the public schools.

Former students, parents and teachers are invited to attend the 40th anniversary celebration Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Trimble Hall at St. John's Episcopal Church.

Attendees are asked to bring photos and memorabilia to share.
