1. Showing off the fort

Fort Frederick will open the fort and reconstructed barracks will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Living history demonstrations will be available for the public, including cannon and musket firing. Fort Frederick State Park, off Md. 56, near Big Pool. Entrance fee is $3; $2 children. 2. Tractor fun

Rohrersville Ruritan Club will host a garden tractor pull. All proceeds will go to park upkeep. 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25. Rohrersville Ruritan Community Park, Rohrersville Road (Md. 67), Rohrersville. Free. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. Call 240-818-1038.


3. Walk for a cure

Eastern Panhandle Walk to End Alzheimer's will be Saturday, Sept. 24 at War Memorial Park, 500 N. Tennessee Ave., Martinsburg, W.Va. The 'Vibrant Life' 5K  Run/Walk will be Sunday, Sept. 25, at Review and Herald Publishing Association, 55 W. Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown. Registration at 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., race at 9 a.m. Three-mile course circles campus. Snacks for sale.
