Man stabbed in Hagerstown apartment

HAGERSTOWN — A man was stabbed in the right thigh Monday night during an apparent argument with his half sister in an apartment on North Potomac Street, according to a Hagerstown Police Department news release.

The woman, identified as Latisha Worthington, 30, address unknown, fled after the stabbing and her whereabouts are unknown, Sgt. David Long said in the release.

Charges of assault and reckless endangerment have been filed against her, Long said.

Police were in the Sumans Avenue area looking for Worthington after the stabbing, which was reported at 9:48 p.m., Long said.

The victim, Joshua David Nixon, of 115 N. Potomac St. was taken to Meritus Medical Center for an injury that was not life-threatening, Long said.

It was unclear what led to the fight, Long said. The apartment is near the intersection with Franklin Street.
