Crime Watch - Sept. 20

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating five burglaries that were reported over the weekend.
The incidents occurred between Friday and Sunday at homes in Boonsboro, Williamsport and on the outskirts of Hagerstown, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
The sheriff’s office said items were reported stolen from a home in the 8300 block of Neck Road in Williamsport. In that case, the burglar broke in through a kitchen window and stole currency and an assortment of jewelry, deputies said.
The other burglaries were reported in the 17300 block of Bakersville Road, the 15800 block of National Pike, the 16700 block of Shinham Road and the 12100 block of Cedar Ridge Road.
Authorities said they have a suspect in the burglary on National Pike.

Deputies were investigating several thefts that occurred within the last three weeks in various parts of Washington County.
The thefts are believed to have occurred from Aug. 22 to Sept. 10, when thieves took a ring, an iPod, money, jewelry and sneakers from homes in Hancock and Knoxville, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release.
The sheriff’s office has identified suspects.

Two apartment buildings near Hagerstown were spray painted over the weekend.
The vandalism occurred Saturday or Sunday at 114 and 118 Sundown Court, according to a Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release. Sundown Court is just north of the intersection of U.S. 40 and Interstate 70.
